The Weapons Of The Unarmed Gaza Flotilla

Hard to believe, isn't it?

If the spokesperson for the Gaza Flotilla says there would be no real resistence:
Audrey Bomse, a spokesperson for the Free Gaza Movement, which is behind the convoy, told the BBC Israel's actions were disproportionate.

"We were not going to pose any violent resistance. The only resistance that there might be would be passive resistance such as physically blocking the steering room, or blocking the engine room downstairs, so that they couldn't get taken over. But that was just symbolic resistance."
And if Al Jazeera assures us that there were no weapons on board the ships

...In fact, organizers tell us that all the ships taking part in the flotilla have been thoroughly searched and cleared by custom authorities in the countries which they departed from.

...All these people, young and old, are all civilians and they are armed with nothing--that is aside from their sheer determination to help the people of Gaza.
There where did these come from?

This video gives a better overview of the "sheer determination" of the ambushers on the Gaza Flotilla:

As the IDF blog notes, these are pictures of:
the weapons found on the Mavi Marmara ship where today, when IDF soldiers attempted to board the ship and redirect it to the Ashdod Port, the activists on board lynched the soldiers in a planned attack. They used knives, metal rods, firebombs and other weapons to attack the soldiers.
Firebombs.
Apparently the 'peace activists' had more 'sheer determination' than the customs authorities.

These are primarily kitchen utensils, workshop tools and a couple of penknives. All in all pretty standard for a large boat plus crew. The only thing that stands out is the ceremonial dagger, again fairly standard assuming that religious types were on board.

Quite frankly this is a rather pathetic attempt by the IDF to cover up for their own incompetence.

IDF incompetence?

You're absolutely right, of course. Under similar circumstances, a country such as Russia would have stopped the ships by disabling the propellers.

Or better yet: send frogmen to explode charges under the ship so it would take on water--then shoot tear gas canisters onto the ship before boarding.

But apparently you were not the only one taken in by the Flotilla PR.

The IDF could have sunk all the ships and every one with their cargo aboard for the same cost in international condemnation. Another lesson for the dhimmi Jews is that their so called "moral restraint" doesn't win Israel international goodwill.

But not all the ships tried to ambush the IDF--just the one.

More importantly, even if it would have resulted in the same level of condemnation--it would have gone against everything the IDF--and Israel--stand for.

Apparently the Free Gaza folks acted peacefully as they promised and the sneak attack came from the flotilla's co-sponsors, the IHH. About them:

"Turkish based International Humanitarian Fund (IHH) is embedded with terrorists and their organizations. Like Hamas they provide humanitarian aid but their clients include Al Qaeda, Hamas, etc. Turkish security forces raided the Istanbul office of IHH. IHH activists were arrested, and Turkish security forces found explosives, manuals, and weapons.

According to the French intelligence, the president of IHH (Bulent Yildirim) recruited “Jihad warriors” and transferred firearms, and explosives to Al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorists organizations. IHH has also been fingered for producing documents so Islamic terrorists can travel by air posing as relief workers. And IHH was involved with the terrorist who tried to smuggle 1320 pounds of explosives to be used to blow up Los Angeles International Airport."
